I picked up a can of Krylon Fusion All-In-One Textured Black Paint + Primer, excited to give it a try on one of my creepy craft projects. I love black paint, and the idea of a textured black finish sounded perfect for what I had planned.
I had visions of a nice textured finish that would add some extra character to my project. You know, something a little rough and weathered looking.
Well, Krylon, we need to talk. LOL!

What I Thought of the Paint
Let’s start with the good stuff. I love the color! The black worked well for my project, and I was happy with how the wooden pieces looked after painting them. But here’s my problem. This paint is advertised as TEXTURED BLACK. So, what texture? Where is the texture?
Seriously, I kept looking at my painted pieces, wondering when the texture was going to show up. I expected something more noticeable, but the finish looked pretty much like black paint to me. I was disappointed because the texture was one of the reasons I wanted to try this particular product. If I wanted plain black paint, I could have bought plain black paint.
Maybe my expectations were too high, but when I buy something specifically because it promises a textured finish, I expect to actually see or feel some texture.
Krylon, I love the color, but I’m still waiting for the texture to introduce itself. 😂
Would I Use Krylon Textured Black Again?
I love the color, and I was happy with how the painted pieces worked for my project. However, I was disappointed that I couldn’t see the noticeable texture I expected from a product labeled Textured Black.
Would I recommend it to someone looking for a textured finish? Based on my experience, I’d hesitate. I was very disappointed that I did not see any texture to this paint.
My project turned out great, and I’m happy with it. The paint just didn’t deliver the feature I was most curious about.
My verdict: I love the black. I love my finished project. But the texture? What texture? Where is the texture? LOL!
