DecoArt Crafter’s Acrylic Black Light Neon Paint Review: Poison Glow
I found this DecoArt Crafter’s Acrylic Black Light Neon paint in Poison Glow at Dollar Tree, and I was excited to give it a try.
The Paint
When I first applied the paint, it was a cool, bright green. Once it dried, the color dulled a bit, which had me wondering how well it would work. But then I turned on my black light, and WOW! This stuff glowed so brightly. I was very happy with the result. So cool that it actually worked. I look forward to making more art with this paint.
The green looks bright when wet, dulls somewhat as it dries, and then really comes alive under a black light.
For a Dollar Tree find, that’s a pretty impressive result!
If you’re looking for an inexpensive green paint that glows brightly under a black light, this one is worth trying. Just be prepared to find something more entertaining to do if your project involves painting a million tiny Lego pegs. 😂
Painting on a Lego Board
While digging through a cabinet, I discovered a Lego board I had completely forgotten I owned. So, I decided it needed a paint experiment.
Painting on the board was interesting. The paint mostly settled into the lower areas, while the little pegs ended up with very little paint or none at all. Getting even coverage on all those tiny bumps was a bit of a challenge. I grabbed a good paint marker and started coloring the pegs individually. That worked as a possible solution, but let’s be honest. I got bored pretty quickly and gave up that idea.
The Black Light Test
As you can see, the Lego board made things interesting. The paint covered the lower areas much better than the little pegs, but the glow is still impressive. I like how the black light also changed the appearance of the other paints that were used on this board. Which was a gold glitter paint, and STA acyrlic markers (using the marker sprayer.)
I started painting the pegs with a paint marker to get better coverage, but I quickly got bored.
Still, I’m really pleased with how brightly this paint glows. For an inexpensive Dollar Tree find, DecoArt Crafter’s Acrylic Black Light Neon in Poison Glow gets a thumbs-up from me!
