My Thoughts on Epoxy Sculpt
I was excited to try this sculpting clay, especially since I’ve had great experiences with Apoxie Sculpt and a better experience Epoxy Sculpt. Unfortunately, this one just wasn’t for me.
The first thing I noticed was how incredibly sticky it is. It was difficult to manipulate into the shapes I wanted because it constantly stuck to my gloves and tools. Instead of sculpting, it felt like I was fighting with the material the entire time.
Another thing I didn’t enjoy was having to heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds before using it. While it didn’t burn my hands, the clay got hot enough that I could easily feel the heat through my gloves. It wasn’t painful, but it definitely wasn’t a pleasant feeling.
I also found that it doesn’t do a very good job of adhering pieces together. If you’re building something with multiple parts, it can be frustrating trying to keep everything in place.
I had tried to add plaster fingers to a plate.

After using this product, I can confidently say that I still prefer Apoxie Sculpt. It has been much easier for me to work with, isn’t nearly as sticky, and gives me far more control while sculpting. If Apoxie Sculpt isn’t available, Epoxy Sculpt would be my second choice since I also found it easier to manipulate than this heat-activated clay.
Unfortunately, this is one product I won’t be buying again. It simply didn’t perform as well as the other sculpting clays I’ve used.
